Completed a high poly model of the rifle from James Cameron's Aliens. It was created using Maya. I'm going to take it into Mudbox and texture it. Once textured, I'll create a low poly version and use Maya's transfer maps to create a normal, occlusion, and diffuse maps.
It seems my speed increases with every model. I try new techniques I see in tutorials and I gain experience in creating shapes that I apply to every new project. After the rifle, I'd like to create a marine from the film. I'd like to try and apply some techniques I've seen in Zbrush to do that. It should be a great learning experience.

It was a great learning experience, but my old computer had trouble dealing with the ncloth simulation. It was taking a day to do a playblast so I wasn't able to tweak the simulation quite to wear I wanted it without taking too much time on it.

One of my recent personal projects is R2D2. I'm pretty much done with the exterior model and texture, but my goal is to also create some of the inner tools he has. I've created the exterior with separate panels to open so I can have his arms and other paraphernalia animate.
Once I've completed his model and texture, I will rig him in a way to, hopefully, not only function, but project some life into his movements creating lifelike animations.

Frankenstein Model
I created the basic mesh in Maya and then took it into Zbrush to finish sculpting and texture. Its part of a project I'm working on with Paul Bermani. We are working together on a gaming piece for our demo reels. I'll be creating other classic monsters for the project too, the Mummy, Dracula, Bride of Frankenstein, Creature from the Black Lagoon, etc.
